lightning intro without any punctuations! GOGOGO!
last year DC Comics announced to the public that 70+ years of rich comic book history/continuity was just plain Old Hat and that they were pressing forward with a new initiative called the New 52 wherein all of the hard fought work of the past seven decades is thrown out the window in favor of creating a rooster of 52 new books each and every one adorned with a shiny #1 as well as showing off the brand-spanking new logo THUS hoping against all hope that this cataclysmic event would make enough waves AND be as introductory/nonthreatening as humanly possible to encourage NEW readers to pick up a DC comic book. still with me?
so as a matter of course long-time DC Comics fans began kicking and screaming and crying and bitching but through all the controversy and heated emotions the New 52 went off without a hitch and indeed scored some huge numbers which were completely unforeseen by DC executives for quite some time having been second to Marvel Comics for years AND this is not to mention the plummeting stock of the American Comic Book Industry as a whole due to this period of Recession that we Americans are in. BUT was the New 52 a success? hurm.
